History
Established in 2005 by Pug owners and best friends, Becky Hinton and Mika B. Martinez, realized Brevard County needed a rescue for Pugs. Becky owned her first pug, Max, at 17, having 2 black males, Rocko and Odie, and Mika had two males, Chopper, a fawn and a black, Tyson. Later on Mika got married and became mommy to Rosco P. Coltrane, a rambunctious Boston. So we added Boston Terriers to our rescue. We are members of the groups you see above, working with them, specifically in Brevard County. We also work with the Brevard County Sheriff's Animal Care Center. We take Pugs and Bostons from the center that aren't adopted or need medical attention. This leaves room for other animals who might not be of a specific breed and/or have a rescue group to go to. We also take in pets that are surrendered by their owners. We transport these pets to foster homes. We do home visits for people who want to be pug and Boston parents or fosters. Home visits are done to make sure the pets are going to a safe environment and the new owners understand the breed they are adopting. We participate in local events to educate the public about pugs and Bostons. We are always on the lookout for more foster homes in the Brevard area and of course, MORE forever loving homes for the rescues. At present, Pug Daddy George and Becky at Hinton Haven, as it is called have 4 lovely boys: Jazzy (12), Sumo (10), Diesel (9) and Gus (8), a Puggle.
Please help make a difference, sign up to foster a pug or BT today!
We need more foster homes to take care of the rescued Pugs (chugs, frugs, bugs), Puggles and Bostons that need a safe place to stay. It's easy. The rescue pays for any medical expenses the pet needs while in your care. What you give them is what you would give you own pet: food, shelter, exercise and love. In turn you get love, companionship and the satisfaction of helping a needy pet.
